- In the Geelong area, there are very few, if any, providers of excellent support for students in the Science and Math subjects. As a result, most students in Year 11 and 12 need to travel to Melbourne to take extra classes during their VCE and IB studies, while for students in lower years, they need to find such support either at home or from ad hoc tutoring.
- MCR has been established with a view to levelling the playing field between students in metropolitan Melbourne or in other metropolitan cities in Australia who have easier access to extra tutoring that puts them at an advantage versus students in our area when it comes to their Year 12 VCE results and their ATAR for admission to universities throughout Australia.
- In particular, parents have told us that there is a shortage of tutors in Science and Math subjects, such as Chemistry, Physics, and Math Methods.
